Lamborghini Given To Pope Francis To Be Auctioned For Charity

This November, Automobili Lamborghini, AKA Lamborghini, donated a unique Lamborghini Huracan RWD to His Holiness Pope Francis. The unique Lamborghini was created specifically in homage to the Vatican with the aid of Milan-based ad agency Riptide. The special edition model in question is painted colors that were inspired by the colors of the flag of Vatican City, Bianco Monocerus and Giallo Tiberino (white and gold).

Pope To Donate Proceeds of Lamborghini Sale to Charity

The Lamborghini will be auctioned at RM Sotheby's May 12 of 2018, and all proceeds from the sale will be donated to Pope Francis, who will allocate these funds to several causes that help the needy and the oppressed. Foundations or charities funds will be applied to include:

  • Aid to the Church in Need, or "Aiuto alla Chiesa che Soffre": funds given to this organization will help in the reconstruction of the Ninevah Plain in the middle East.
  • Pope John XXIII Community and Pope Francis House Projects: funds given to these organizations will be applied toward helping women who are victims of trafficking and other abuses.
  • GICAM and Friends for Central Africa ("Amici per il Centrafrica"): funds given to these organizations will help aid women and children in need throughout Africa.
